Introducing the LEMMA project

LEMMA (Local Energy Markets Modelling and Analysis) is a project led by smart energy specialists Swanbarton , with high-integrity software house IPL and supported by funding from the Technology Strategy Board.
The project is exploring innovative approaches to local power generation and distribution, and address the challenges in enabling local renewable energy generators to maximise their production without the need for local feeder reinforcement.
Neil Morgan, Head of Energy at the Technology Strategy Board, said: “We are delighted to support the joint proposal from Swanbarton and IPL. Their examination of the viability of Local Energy Markets has the potential to lead to both lower energy costs and a reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide. We look forward to seeing the results of the study.”
